How to Use Your Pressure Cooker Safely      

• Never put an empty cooker on a lit gas or induction stove. This can damage the cooker and even damage the induction plate.
• Always add water before closing the lid, even for dry food like rice.
• Check the rubber ring and steam vent are clean before each use.
• Never open the lid while there is still pressure inside. Wait for the pressure to go down, or run cool water over the lid.
• Do not fill the cooker more than two-thirds full, as food expands while cooking.

Common Questions

Can I use the glass lid for cooking, or only for serving?
The glass lid is only for serving or checking food. Always use the steel lid for pressure cooking.

My cooker whistle is not blowing even after a long time on the stove. What could be wrong?
This usually happens if the vent pipe is blocked or the gasket is not sealing properly. Clean the vent and check that the rubber gasket is placed correctly before using again.

Can I buy a replacement gasket or whistle separately if mine wears out?
Yes, spare gaskets and whistles for Garuda cookers are available separately, so you do not need to replace the whole cooker.

Do I need to season a new steel cooker before first use, like some other cookers?
No, this cooker does not need any seasoning. Just wash it once with warm water and soap before your first use.

Is the warranty valid if the gasket or whistle needs replacing, or only for the cooker body?
The 36-month warranty covers manufacturing defects in the cooker body. Gasket and whistle are normal wear parts and are not covered under warranty.

Does the cooker size mentioned (like 5.5L) mean the full capacity or the safe cooking capacity?
The listed size is the full capacity. For safe pressure cooking, fill only up to two-thirds of this capacity, so the actual cooking capacity is slightly less.
