Garuda NRI Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker 9.0 Litre
Garuda NRI Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker 9.0 Litre
Cook rice, dal, and curries for the whole family or a large group in one go with this 9 litre pressure cooker. It is made from thick, strong steel and heats evenly, so large batches cook through properly without burning at the bottom.
Why Choose the 9 Litre Pressure Cooker
A 9 litre cooker is built for big households, joint families, hostels, or small catering needs, where cooking in small batches wastes both time and gas. The sandwich bottom base spreads heat evenly even at this larger size, so rice and dal at the bottom cook the same as the rest, not just near the sides. The outer lid makes it easy to open and close even when the cooker is full, and the glass lid lets you check or serve food without switching vessels. It works on gas, induction, ceramic, and coil stoves, so it suits both home kitchens and larger cooking setups.

Steel Cooker vs Aluminium Cooker
Aluminium cookers are light and heat up fast, but at larger sizes like 9 litres, a thin aluminium base is more likely to warp or heat unevenly under heavy daily use. Steel does not react with food, does not stain, and holds its shape better over years of cooking large batches. It takes a little longer to heat, but it is sturdier and safer for regular big-batch cooking.

How to Use Your Pressure Cooker Safely
- Never put an empty cooker on a lit gas or induction stove. This can damage the cooker and even damage the induction plate.
- Always add enough water before closing the lid, even for dry food like rice, especially with larger batches.
- Check the rubber ring and steam vent are clean before each use.
- Never open the lid while there is still pressure inside. Wait for the pressure to go down, or run cool water over the lid.
- Do not fill the cooker more than two-thirds full, as food expands while cooking — with 9 litres, this means filling only up to about 6 litres of food and water.
- Keep the cooker on a flat, stable surface, since a full 9 litre cooker is heavier and needs a steady base.
Common Questions
Is a 9 litre cooker too big for a regular family, or only useful for events and catering?
A 9 litre cooker works well for large joint families, frequent guests, or hostels, and is also useful for small catering or community cooking, not only big events.
How much rice or dal can I cook at one time in a 9 litre cooker?
Filling up to two-thirds capacity, you can safely cook enough rice or dal for around 10-12 people in a single batch.
Will a 9 litre cooker take much longer to heat up compared to a smaller cooker?
It takes a little longer to come to full pressure due to its size, but once heated, cooking time for rice or dal stays roughly similar to smaller cookers.
Is the 9 litre size compatible with a standard induction stove, or does it need a bigger one?
Yes, it works on standard induction stoves, though very large or heavy cookers heat slightly better on induction stoves with a wider coil base.
Can I lift and handle a full 9 litre cooker safely on my own?
A full 9 litre cooker is heavy, so it is best handled with both hands using the side handles, and it is safer to remove it from the stove before opening the lid.
